After the warm days of the Summer are gone and the leaves start falling in your pool it is a signal for you to start thinking about winterization of your pool and pool equipment.
Winterization is necessary for the D.C. metro area with Winter temperatures falling below the freezing.
Failure to close properly your pool will result in hundreds if not thousands of dollars of damage to your equipment and your pool due to water freeze in the pipes and the equipment itself.
Our certified pool operators will come to your pool and will perform the following tasks:

Drain the pool 6 to 18 inches below the waterline tile (this is the average rainfall for our area from October to April) to keep the tiles dry during the winter season and minimize the risk of freeze damage.

Blow or suck all water out of the pool and spa lines.

Blow or suck all water out of the pool equipment such main pump, cleaner pump, filter, heater, heat pump, sanitizer feeder, salt generator (if available).

Remove all drain plugs from the pool equipment.

Add pool antifreeze into skimmers and pool lines.

Install “gizmos” Protection Expansion Devices in skimmers (is skimmer model allows it).

Install winterizing plugs in return lines.

Remove all deck equipment, handrails, ladders and safety float lines (if available),

Winterize the pool pump, filter, heater and sanitizer feeder and salt generator (if available).

Add additional Muriatic Acid, Calcium Chloride, Sodium Bicarb or Sodium Carb to keep the water stabilized during the cold months.

Add winterizing algaecide, and shock chemicals to pool/spa water to prevent the growth of algae and bacteria in the pool water.

Install winter cover if available.

FINALLY, OUR CERTIFIED POOL & SPA SERVICE PROFESSIONAL (CSP) WILL SEND YOU AND OUR OFFICE AN EMAIL WITH ATTACHED WINTERIZATION REPORT CONTAINING THE CURRENT STATUS OF YOUR POOL AND SUGGESTIONS FOR YOU WINTER MAINTENANCE AND NEXT SEASON REPAIRS.
