Why is pool caulking important?

 

The caulk around your pool between the pool coping and the deck does not let any pool splash or rainwater get in between the deck and the pool wall.  In the long run, the lack of caulking will lead to deck sinking and displacement as the rainwater washes off the soil underneath the deck. Water penetration during the winter causes freeze damage to the deck and the pool wall, which may ultimately result in cracks in the pool walls and very expensive repairs.
